Summer - Week 1

We are still trying to stay home more than usual, but we are also feeling more comfortable running errands and enjoying time with friends - all of which happened this week!  In fact, Delaney even went over to Jenna's house for one afternoon to play.  And they stayed outside the whole time!  As far as the virus is concerned, the governor moved more control to the local counties this week.  This means that each county will determine how and when to reopen.  Most businesses are currently open, although with limitations in place.  Unfortunately, the Hillsboro Pool will be closed all summer, which is currently causing a big uproar... Speaking of pools, we helped Grammy and Papa open theirs this week - an annual event!  We took the pool cover off, scrubbed and washed it, and got out the outdoor furniture to set around the yard.  This was by far the coolest day we've ever done this - I think!  We have definitely been enjoying our own produce, and since my broccoli was extremely early,

Stay-at-Home (Week 10) / Learn-at-Home (Week 8)

I guess "stay-at-home" isn't exactly correct anymore.  This week, we began in Phase 1.5, then moved to Phase 2 of reopening on Friday.  A lot of businesses were free to open up again on Friday, including movie theaters, bowling alleys, etc.  Groups of no larger than 15 are okay, but social distancing is still necessary.  Just tonight, I heard a report that 35% of all people diagnosed with Covid-19 are asymptomatic - spreading the disease without knowing it.  I guess this is why testing is so important.  We are continuing to stay at home as much as possible, but I feel a little freer to go out shopping for groceries, at least.   Caiden has been golfing A LOT at Papa's golf course, and last Sunday, he let us all tag along.  In fact, Chelan played with him, Noah, and Ty. This was the first time I have actually watched him play.  The girls took a few practice swings, too, for the first time. School-wise, this was a big week - Tuesday was the last day of school for Caiden,

Stay-at-Home (Week 9) / Learn-at-Home (Week 7)

This week began with Mother's Day!  Grammy invited us over for dinner provided by Keith's, and it was just lovely to be together with my family again.  The girls enjoyed playing with Dollie while all the boys and Addi played 'throw golf'.  Vanessa, Mom, and I stayed behind to chat.  On the way home, we caught up with Chelan's side of the family as the McCabe's had dropped by for lunch earlier.  It's always a good thing to see actual people right now!  To our moms: We appreciate the love, support, help, encouragement, and guidance you have shown us and your grandchildren for so many years!!  We love you dearly! Cambry drove us safely to  Grammy and Papa's Trying to social distance a little bit in the kitchen! We tried treats from Grazing Plains Dairy and The Salted Creamery for the first time.  We gifted some, but I kept this carton for myself! After Sunday, the weather turned cold and wet.  I'm not going to lie: Mon.-Wed. were tough days.  Long, drea
