Saturday

A water leak in the basement led to this: (lots of digging) which led to this: (the leaky pipe is found) which led to this: (a whole kitchen full of dirty dishes - this isn't all of them) I'll be honest - it was a little disturbing how flustered I got with the water turned off most of the day.  It shouldn't bother me.  A counter full of dirty dishes should not get me worked up.  But waiting all day to clean this up nearly drove me crazy! I am fully aware that if this was my biggest worry of the day, I should consider myself blessed!  A day later, I can recognize that.  I have dishes that can get dirty, I have running water readily available (on most days), I have plenty of food to fill those dishes up.  What was such an annoyance to me yesterday would be considered a luxury to so many people around the world. I will do better next time.  And I will remember to be thankful for my dirty dishes! On a brighter note, Caiden and I went on a mother/son date Satur

ROAR!

Way back in August, my sister introduced me to the song "Roar" by Katy Perry.  Well, that sure turned into a popular one!  We've listened to it so much that Delaney knows most of the song - especially the chorus. Take a listen!

A Carpet of Leaves

We have a beautiful carpet outside!   There will be a lot more of this.  Our new mower doesn't have a catcher on it - a luxury we were quite used to! Where's Biscuit?

Lost . . . and Found

This little gal gave us  me quite a scare last night.  We couldn't find her - anywhere!  Chelan and I both went out at separate times to look for her.  We heard coyotes around, we heard yelping, we  I figured she was gone.  And I was sad - 9 weeks of looking after her and she was suddenly gone. Fast forward to today after school (I subbed all day so I couldn't even look for her).  Caiden went out to the barn and she was there - where she always is.  She was never really lost at all! Oh, Biscuit - how many more scares will we have?

Halloween 2013

Caiden and Cambry came up with this "vampire - owl" design together. It came and it went - that exciting, dress-up, silly kind of day we call Halloween.  While I participate in the festivities, I can also say, quite truthfully, that I am happy when this particular day is over.  I've never been one for dress-up - maybe that's why it's not my favorite day.  I did find a blinking candy corn necklace to wear this year - that's about as good as it gets for me! This year, we went into town to trick-or-treat. Caiden met some friends (and their parents) and the girls and I went around town for about 30 minutes.  Delaney could have been trick-or-treating all night! Cambry, on the other hand, was done after about 5 houses.  They couldn't be more opposite from each other! We ended the evening by watching Charlie Brown - a nice quiet ending to a very chaotic kind of day!
