Fair Time!

Cambry was busy throughout July getting ready for the Marion Co. Fair.  She sewed one skirt and made 2 different recipes to be judges - monster cookie bars and a cereal mix.  She definitely wasn't thrilled ALL the time to be working on these things, but I am proud of how she finished.  And we have to give a huge thank you to Grandma for helping Cambry get started on her skirt.  Without her, there would not have been a sewing project!!  We found out at the judging yesterday that her skirt was actually quite difficult for a beginner.  This not-so-great-at-sewing mom just doesn't know these kinds of things. She ended up with 2 blues on her foods projects and a blue ribbon for her skirt!  She was disappointed with a red for her styling, but she shouldn't be - she did a great job!   Even more importantly, she met a new friend during the day - who just happens to be the daughter of our farm's "seed guy!" Little Fish

Every summer, Delaney looks forward to her swimming lesson week with her cousin, Addi.  This year was no exception!  Delaney loved every minute of it, and was super-sad when her week was over.  Addi worked her hard, but out of all of our children, Delaney is definitely the one that rises to the challenge of working hard!  I watched her lesson on Friday, and it was remarkable what Delaney can do already - freestyle, breaststroke, butterfly, backstroke, "shredding" water ("treading" to most of us), and diving.  What fun to watch her learn from her cousin.  Thanks, Addi, for teaching her how to swim!  She didn't want it to end!

Summer Softball

Cambry reluctantly signed up to play softball again this summer - reluctantly meaning, I signed her up!  She wouldn't admit it, but I think she has enjoyed herself.  She's not a fan of HOT weather, but she endured some pretty hot games.  She has also:  fielded a few balls, hit a few base hits, and even managed an in-the-park home run the other night!  We are proud of you for sticking with it, Cambry! The team - minus one player Braylyn, Logan, Cambry, Olivia, Alyson, Jaicee, Alece missed that one! stopped it! the misters were a hit on this 100+ day! Ready to head towards 2nd base
