8th Grade Promotion at Last!

May 15, 2018 - 8th Grade Promotion This was a special evening!  The 8th graders worked at putting their promotion together for a few weeks leading up to the big night.  As one of their teachers, I was able to see and help with the behind-the-scenes efforts.  As a mom, I was happy to see Caiden enjoying his last days in middle school!  Their promotion ceremony was a true reflection of the class - from the speeches, to the class video, to their expressions during the picture-taking portion!  I enjoyed all of it, and then we had fun at our house with some friends, family, and a few teachers coming over to help Caiden celebrate his move into high school!  He requested pie and ice cream, so pie and ice cream it was (we have to thank Lois Janzen, Grandma, and Grammy for those) - under the lights in the front yard!  Congratulations Caiden - may you learn to realize your full potential and God-given abilities as you move on into high school! ...

Spring Band & Choir Concert

We enjoyed Caiden and Cambry's spring concert - particularly "Uptown Funk," performed by the band spread out around the auditorium (unfortunately, the video was too large to load)!  Mr. Taylor was also a hoot on the stage for one of the 6th grade choir songs.  Thank you to Mr. Taylor and Mr. Voth for a great concert! The boys ensemble sang a fun song - complete with actions!

2nd Grade Field Trip

I had the privilege of accompanying Delaney on her field trip to Tanganyika Wildlife Park last week.  I had a blast seeing the animals with her and her class.  Delaney had such a fun year in 2nd grade - thanks in large part to her teacher, Mrs. Hiebert! Kangaroo fight! Cheetah siblings having fun Look at those toes!

Worlds of Fun

I got to go along on the JH incentive trip to Worlds of Fun a few weeks ago.  It was so much fun - and I'm not even a big "ride" fan!  Mr. Pauls and I had the "tame" group for the day, and we had a great time!  It's a fun way to end the school year - and a good incentive for the students to stay responsible as the school year winds down. Rylee, Emma, and Mallory getting ready for the Boomerang Driving the Taxi Amy got in on the fun too Claire and Cambry  - and Patrick I'm in the back - this was enough of a drop for me! Cambry and Olivia on the train Prizes were won! Babysitting Squirrtel - a prize won by Claire

Track Season

Up first - Track!  Both Caiden and Cambry participated in track this year.  Cambry tried out shot put, discus, and long jump this year.  She improved a little bit each meet, which was her goal.  Caiden again did triple jump for a few meets, high jump, the medley relay and the 4x200 relay.  By the time the league meet rolled around, the 2 relays got 2nd place and Caiden cleared 4'10" in high jump.  Unfortunately, he didn't do as well as he wanted to in the long jump, but on the bright side - the 8th grade boys team as a whole got first place that day! 8th grade boys - league champions!  6th/7th grade girls
