We took off for OKC last weekend with no real plan - except for having a hotel booked. It was lovely! We made ourselves quite at home in the hotel and realized we hadn't spent more than one night in a hotel together before - four nights in one place felt like a luxury. We did a fair amount of relaxing, swimming, and sightseeing. In fact, we explored several districts in the city during our stay.
Day 1: Zoo, Bricktown, Oklahoma City Memorial
Day #2: Myriad Botanical Gardens, Movie, Escape Room, Land Run Monument
Day 1: Zoo, Bricktown, Oklahoma City Memorial
These chimps had quite the chasing game going - so fun to watch!
Snacks in bed in the middle of the afternoon? Why yes, of course!
Jumping on beds? Absolutely!
These "tailgate benches" were so cute at Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill
So calm and peaceful now - a stark contrast to that awful day in 1995.
Can you spot Delaney?
I enjoyed my time in the "Crystal Bridge" - an indoor section of the gardens, while the kids played in the fountains outside. There were so many beautiful rain forest plants, and I took my time since I was by myself! :)
Banana Tree - the bananas are at the top somewhere
Chocolate - of course!
My view from the top of the bridge
Back to the hotel for swimming!
This was a fun place to eat before going to the escape room
We escaped with 5 min. to spare. Even with a hint to help us, this was a favorite activity for all of us!
Our hotel was close to the state capitol, so we stopped by for some pictures on our way back. There was construction so we weren't able to get very close.
Land Run Monument - it was giant!
Day #3: Outlet Shopping and Whitewater Bay:
Trying to convince Delaney to ride "The Big Kahuna" - it didn't work for her, but Cambry was convinced.
The end of the ride - not sure if Cambry enjoyed it or not?!
The Lazy River was a hit
We ended our trip by ordering-in pizza: a first for the kids!
