Prayers for Wednesday

Cambry has had a challenging winter.  She was struck hardest with the flu in early January, she just got over a week-long bout with a weird stomach bug, and in the midst of it all, she's been to the doctor 4 times with a urinary frequency problem.  Tomorrow morning, she has a procedure to explore why she has to use the restroom so often, and if anything needs fixing, they should be able to do that all during the same procedure.

Caiden had surgery when he was 3, Delaney had surgery last year, and now it's Cambry's turn.  This is one is different, though, because she's old enough to be scared.  She hasn't talked about it much, and I'm very careful about bringing it up.  There were a few tears last night, but she seemed to recover quickly.

We're hopeful that we might get some things figured out tomorrow.  Prayers would be appreciated for Cambry's anxiety, for patience as Chelan and I wait, for safety, for the wisdom of the doctors and nurses involved, and for answers!

    I'm so sorry she has to have this done. I'll be praying for her and you and Chelan. I hope you can get some answers!

    I'm sure the doctors have told you this, but last year Addison was having problems going to the bathroom all the time. It was getting to be a problem at school. Her pediatrician said a lot of times this can be caused by constipation when the colon pushes on the bladder and gives them the feeling that they need to pee all the time. We started giving her Miralax occasionaly to help with constipation and the problem was solved.

    Hopefully it will be something simple like that with Cambry! I'll be thinking of you all tomorrow.

I have struggled with writing about the shooting in Hesston - in fact, I wasn't going to post anything about it.  However, for the sake of memories, I decided I should at least touch on it.  It does deserve a place. NCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championships

Chelan and I took Delaney to Kansas City for the championship game of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament - a birthday gift given to her in August. What a cool experience! From posing with the trophy to testing her vertical (6th place for all girls who tried!), to watching the match between Texas A&M and Kentucky, to a real life reindeer in the arena, we had a fun day!

Cousin Week

We declared last week "Cousin Week" and went to see Cale, Mace, and Ty play football.  We also watched Addi play volleyball.  Three of those events were on the same day!  I'm sure the girls feel like they have seen enough football to last a long time.  Little do they know - Caiden will be playing in 2 short years and they will have to sit through a lot more of those! We did enjoy watching each one - watching their strengths come through, watching them interact with teammates and coaches.  They are all growing up - just like our own three keep doing!  How does that happen?? Now, if only we could magically appear in California for the other cousins' sports endeavors! Addi - already an 8th grader!
