Justin Nickel, Caiden, Dylan Riley, and Caleb Burkholder (not pictured) drove their tractors to school today as part of National FFA Week. The grade school kids were over the moon with excitement to see tractors parked in the school parking lot!
We went to school expecting a few flurries, but suddenly the snow kept piling up and didn't stop. It turns out we were under an unusual weather system that created a 15-mile-wide strip of snow through Kansas. Goessel just happened to be underneath it while nearby towns didn't see flake! Unexpectedly, school was called off at 1 p.m. Our happy kids came home, and the girls went to work on a snow tunnel! NWS Topeka satellite image Leigh Marts (from Washington Post)
