Days With the Duerksens

In early August, we were thankful for a great visit with the California crew once again - beginning with the parade at Threshing Days. There was a lot of basketball, good eating, some fishing, LOTS of 4-wheeling, and we even had a good strong storm roll through one night that did in one of our trees (and subsequently, the grain bin). The time always goes by way too fast, but we are grateful for the times we have together!  

We moved Caiden up to his house on the 16th and helped get him settled in. Pictured with him is Kam, one of his hallmates from last year. We wish them a great 2nd year at K-State! Lots of decisions to be made for one and simply enjoying the last year of middle school for the other.  I love the eagerness in her face on the first day of Kindergarten! Ready to go!

We have another teenager in the house! The cool thing about teenagers is that sometimes, they make their own strawberry cake and frosting! Delaney continues to find new ways to challenge herself, to work hard on the skills she already has, and still finds time to be a great sister and friend to others. Happy 13th, Delaney!
