It's So Cold Outside . . .

As I write this, it's 1 degree outside.  I don't think it's ever been cold enough, long enough for the girls to play on an iced-over creek!  With a high of 10 degrees yesterday, it was the warmest it will be for 4 more days, so they went outside and played on the ice! ice pancakes! I didn't know Robins stayed around here for winter. At  first, I thought it was stuck, but it was just getting a drink!

4-H Talk 2021

 Since December, our 4H club has needed to meet virtually.  This made it a little different for Cambry to give her project talk at the Feb. meeting.  With the option of screen-sharing, she was able to present her slideshow pretty easily - and actually, she probably preferred it this way!  She gave a talk that included some leadership tips since she is in the Jr. Leadership project.  

January 2021

 January brought a brand new year, but, unfortunately, did not magically put an end to Covid.  In fact, more people in our area contracted the virus than ever before, and actually, a few people we knew died in January and early February:  our high school janitor, Norm Schmidt; our high school English teacher, Elaine Schroeder; our home ec. teacher, Mary Graber, and my great uncle, Wilbert Schmidt.  At the same time this was happening, the vaccine was becoming more available.  Both of my parents received theirs and my sister and sister-in-law did too. As a teacher, I hope I will soon be eligible for mine in this county.  Things are looking up, hopefully! January was also full of basketball for Caiden and Delaney!  Luckily, Delaney only had to miss one game due to being quarantined to her classroom for a week (her teacher tested positive for Covid).  Her team had 3 games, and even though that was a limited number, the girls did improve!  Next y...
