VBS - One Last Time

As a 6th grader, this was Delaney's last year to attend VBS as a student, and since I wasn't a director this year, I was able to help out with her class. She was thrilled that our church joined with Tabor 6th graders for the week. Pastor Caleb, Michelle Unruh, and I carted the 7 girls around the area to participate in some service projects.

These projects included:

Monday - MDS Cabinet Shop in Goessel

Learning to drill with Cleo Coop

8 cabinet face frames completed

Tuesday - MCC Center to recycle and pack school kits

Wednesday - Et Cetera Shop sorting
Sorting Christmas ornaments at Et Cetera

Thursday - Visiting at Bethesda Home and working on a mural to give them as a gift

Friday - Baking cookies for the Tabor VBS Staff meal

It was a fun-filled, full week!

Choosing Trust Over Fear

I have struggled with writing about the shooting in Hesston - in fact, I wasn't going to post anything about it.  However, for the sake of memories, I decided I should at least touch on it.  It does deserve a place. NCAA Division 1 Volleyball Championships

Chelan and I took Delaney to Kansas City for the championship game of the NCAA Volleyball Tournament - a birthday gift given to her in August. What a cool experience! From posing with the trophy to testing her vertical (6th place for all girls who tried!), to watching the match between Texas A&M and Kentucky, to a real life reindeer in the arena, we had a fun day!

Girl Named Tom

Bethel College, Beautiful Night, Free Concert - need I say more? The Administration Building has never looked better! Delaney and her friend Elaina got to meet them afterwards - that's Delaney in the shadows! :)
